Chairman's Welcome

Cuireann se gliondar i mo chroi, mar chathaoirleach ar an gcoiste seo, cead mile fáilte a chur romaimh go leir, idir daoine áituila agus cuairteori, go dti an dara Scoil Samraidh Litriochta Trevor / Bowen.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our second Trevor / Bowen Summer School. Our committee has worked hard to produce an event that, we hope, will be rewarding on many levels, artistically, intellectually, emotionally and even spiritually. The programme has been chosen carefully with this aim in mind. We feel that it is wholly appropriate that the connection between this beautiful area of North Cork and two writers of such international renown be marked and honoured by the continuation of this Summer School. We hope that it will enrich and endure, as have the words of William Trevor and Elizabeth Bowen as, indeed, have the words of Sean O’Faoláin and Mary Lavin, two other short story writers whose works will be celebrated over the weekend. We trust you will enjoy our efforts.
